HT Tiles achieves stringent health standards for Abbattoir

Industrial Food Flooring  Castricum Brothers commenced in Australia in 1953 rapidly expanding its business into meat processing, wholesaling and retailing for the domestic and export markets including undertaking specialized Halal and trace-back processing.

As an Aus-Meat accredited supplier Castricum Brothers maintains one of the world’s most rigorously controlled and continually monitored Meat Safety Quality Assurance programs to ensure safe, clean lamb.  The company adheres to the highest standards set by the United States of America, European Union and Islamic authorities.

After undertaking extensive services renovations resulting in tile damage, Castricum Brothers approached Ceramic Solutions to retile.

Tiles and grout had to achieve the cleanliness and hygiene standards appropriate for a meat processing plant, without interference to production schedules.  Ceramic Solutions worked with Castricum Brothers to understand their requirements, responding with a recommendation to use Agrob Buchtal’s Chroma 2 range with HT coating.  The HT infused coating, which is unique to Agrob Buchtal, provides an easy to clean surface.  This is achieved by activated oxygen produced by a photocatalytic reaction between HT tile, light and air, to make the tile surface hydrophilic.  This makes cleaning easier with significantly reduced need for chemicals and cleaners.  The surface coating is also microbial resistant thereby decomposing and retarding growth of bacteria, funghi, mould odors and other microbes.

Ceramic Solutions recommended an industrial food grade epoxy grout to form the complete tile system.  The wall tiling was successfully completed to provide Castricum Brothers with an easy to clean, hygienically compliant and professional looking work environment.

Ceramic Solutions is experienced in a range of tiles and tiling projects in the food industry, from tiles within commercial kitchens, to tiles within bakeries, to tiles within restaurants, cafes and food courts.
