RE: Oliver and Mark Huss of Ceramic Solutions
Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre appointed Ceramic Solutions to undertake an extensive concourse refurbishment project in 2003. They were appointed following a lengthy tender and interview process which included analysis of their past experience, technical expertise, product knowledge and ability to work within an operating sports facility. The appointment was approved by both the MSAC Trust and Major Projects Victoria and Peddle Thorpe Architects. Product selections were subject to extensive testing by the CSIRO.
Initially, Ceramic Solutions took a very proactive role in recommending a suitable product which would meet both slip resistance and cleaning criteria. Ceramic Solutions then prepared a complex staging program which enabled the project to be completed whilst all pools remained operational. They showed due regard for tenancy management issues by supplying signage to redirect and update the public on progress of the works.
The program for the works was particularly tight, however Ceramic Solutions were able to complete the work not only on time, but to a high standard of workmanship. Oliver and Mark Huss showed great attention to detail in dealing with treatments for stairs, wet deck grate seatings, planter boxes and gattic covers, thus ensuring the safest details adopted for pool users both in and out of the water.
MSAC have maintained a working relationship with Ceramic Solutions following the success of the refurbishment and I would happily recommend them to any client who has a requirement for an aquatic project. I can be contacted to verbally support this written recommendation.
Yours sincerely,
Andrew Lapthorne Operations Manager Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre
