To whom it may concern,
This letter of recommendation is provided by Russel Bates of John Holland for Ceramic Solutions (Aust) Pty Ltd.
I first worked with Oliver and Mark Huss of Ceramic Solutions at the Melbourne Convention Centre project earlier this year. The project involved a $6 million fitout over a six-week period. All contractors were required to meet a very tight program and work shifts operated 24 hours a day. Ceramic Solutions performed admirably on this project and not only completed the work set in their original scope of work, but also carried out $40,000 worth of granite repairs following a flood in the level 2 lobby part way through the project on Christmas Eve. Ceramic Solutions therefore had to establish a supplier for an adequate quantity of the existing stone, source a stone fabricator and carry out the labour necessary to install the stone throughout the traditional building industry Christmas shutdown. Ceramic Solutions completed the entire project on program and were a pleasure to work with.
I next came across Ceramic Solutions on the Waverley Aquatic Centre project for the City Of Monash, where they were one of the nominated contractors. They carried out $305k of pool tiling using Agrob Buchtal material and $137k of general tiling (including change rooms, entrance lobby, café and kitchen) using Stroher material for public change rooms and showers. The project ran over an eight month period and the program was compressed due to external and internal factors. Ceramic Solutions ran on or ahead of program at all times. Oliver Huss in particular had close working relationships with representatives of the client being the Monash City Council, the architects (William Ross Architects) and the pool consultant (Mr Peter Snelling). He provided advice on product selection and installation details. Ceramic Solutions showed dedicated in completing the project beyond their contractual requirements.
