Within the food processing environment there is a significant concern regarding the spread of bacteria coming into contact with food products.

Ceramic Solutions has supplied and installed ceramic tiles to facilities such as abattoirs, commercial kitchens and bakeries with the purpose of an easy-to-clean surface to maintain hygiene.

Whilst regular cleaning and disinfection can reduce the number of bacteria attached to floor and wall surfaces, complete removal is difficult when inappropriate materials are utilised.  Studies done by CSIRO show that bacterial counts are much higher using concrete and epoxy flooring, compared to pressed textured tiles.
